Village Pizza Pub Carpentersville

I've been eating here since I was a little kid probably 45 years, new owners took over a while back but everything is still going good. I rarely eat anything other than the village special, get it well done with extra sauce and eat it as soon as possible as it will sweat in the package if you order take out. Parking: A busy Friday or Saturday might have you parking down the street. Kid-friendliness: Plenty of space a rooms to reserve for kids to have space and some games for entertainment. Wheelchair accessibility: No problem

We went here on Mother’s Day because we’ve been wanting to check it out since we’ve heard good things, unfortunately our experience was not as we hoped. It was very slow, maybe 30% occupancy, around 5pm. We were seated and when we gave our drink orders we also ordered the calamari. I ordered a cocktail and everyone else ordered pop. Well they all got their drinks, calamari came out, and then it was finished and still I had no drink, not even a water was offered. Calamari was ok, it was meaty so that was a plus but the dipping sauce was lackluster. I had to flag down the waitress to tell her to just cancel the cocktail and bring me a coke instead since we had already been there for a good 30 minutes at that point. She came back with the pop and cocktail but I didn’t want it at that point so she took it back and the manager removed it from the bill. We ordered the bbq chicken pizza to share. The chicken on the pizza tasted like 3 day old chicken. We all literally removed the cheese from the dough and peeled off all the chicken from each slice. Waitress came 15 minutes after the pizza was delivered to see how everything was and I said not good but all she said was “oh”. Unfortunate to have such a crappy experience, especially on Mother’s Day. Definitely not going back. PSA: Don’t order the bbq chicken pizza ?

Parking: Parking lot is on the front side of the building which faces East

Had a large party for a bday party. Did several items on the menu, not impressed with any. It's basically sub par bar food. The pizza is average at best. Had the thin crust, crust decent, cheese decent, sauce bad and barely existent. Hate to harp on the staff, but we were there for two hours, maybe saw our server three times, without finding her on my own probably understaffed. Not gonna be a return customer

They have strong flavor profiles in their pizzas basil, oregano, etc. Loved the thin crust, pizza was little salty but overall very good!
