The Oak - Carpati

After Easter holidays we arrived in Baia Mare and in the center we decided to have dinner at The Oak Restaurant... we chose pasta, burger and beef dishes a very good choice for us as a family!

The place is in the old center of the city so has a beautiful terrace, the food is the best in the city (for my taste, for example I don't like oily pasta or much sauce), the part is normal and I highly recommend... Beef on stone or Tagliatta because is very good!

Best place in the old centre. It’s comfy and the staff are always on hand to help. I would recommend this place as been several times. Good food,Good company, and good staff. Not forgetting the beer of course. 100% . Top star rated

The service is the worst in Romania.....the waiters are all trainees.....we visited a group of five persons, from Spain, we waited for the waiter 15 minutes, we ordered one round, and we called the waiter, ALEXANDRA, she do not know what is a “gin...tonic”.....and she’s coleague a trainee) told us that “she can not come because she is very bussy”..... after 30 minutes she came and finaly we ordered the second round of drinks. The owner a guy called YURI, appologized, but he was not too convinces about...... YURI, you are italian as you told me) you should have another menthality, but seems that the only thing calls your attention is just the cashier once closed and I think this is not the right way...... For the bill we called the waiter ALEXANDRA, we wanted to pay with credit card.....she went to smoke with the coleagues, and after 15 minutes I went to pay to the nar , and I paid, while ALEXANDRA was smoking and telling stories to her coleagues...... We laid to NEVER RETIRN to “THE OAK” in Baia Mare...... HORROBLE SERVICE. Z.
