Casa Rosa - CARPANETO PIACENTINO

One of the best local restaurant I have been recently, with top quality food from the area and from their own growing area around the place including their own chicken! We had ‘chisolini with local salami’ as a starter wauuu really good one; ‘pisarei e faso’’ a local dish from the Piacenza province/area, very well cooked, absolutely delicious; and finally ‘brasato with polenta’ (one of us had chicken cooked in white wine, I believe, was too good! which was soo good I mean the meat was tender and really really good. We had red wine in a small carafe, as we are not heavy drinker, however the red wine was good indeed; water and nothing else, of course bread was taken to the table as a matter of course as soon as we arrived. All in all a delicious meal, at lunchtime on a Sunday, and a very good surprise the bill an average of Euro 19 p/person, well quality combined with quantity and price cannot be beaten here well done Casa Rosa! Will go back when in the area as it is really worth it!

Visited for lunch mid week. Very popular with locals, particularly the workers. The menu is limited and consists of a set two course meal with wine for 11 euros. You have a choice of three starters and three main courses plus fresh bread. The pasta choices for starters were both delicious. The chicken dishes were also delightful. Vegetable accompaniments were plain but adequate. Wine was nice local fare. Service was friendly though waitress had no English, we were lucky to have Italian speaking friends in our group. Very good value for money and highly recommended if you are travelling in the area.

I was staying with a friend down the road from here when she told me we were going to go for a workers' lunch for 10 Euro. A little apprehensive I must admit but I was not disappointed. Casa Rosa has a beautiful outlook to begin with, although the interior is a bit school canteen but hey it's for the workers, it's just rustic. The workers' lunch offers 3 courses and a small carafe of wine and I have to say the food was excellent! To be honest the food in the whole region is great, but here was soo good and at great value too.
