Masseria Monte Pizzi - CAROVILLI

This was our second stay at the Masseria, enjoying their accommodation as well as the restaurant for a whole week. Once again Nadia and her family gave us a wonderful experience friendly, informative and always attentive, set in beautiful countryside and within easy reach of many fascinating historical sites. Our room was, once again, very comfortable and well appointed, the food delicious and simple as it should be, reflecting local tastes and produce, and they introduced us to more wine from Molise, especially the red Tintilia not easily available yet in the UK and well worth a try. There are important archaeological sites to visit at Pietrabbondante and Sepino, a fascinating bell foundry at Agnone, and some smaller, charming places right on the doorstep, for example the nature reserve at Montedimezzo or the ruined church above Castiglione next door to Carovilli. There are some delightful short walks in the local countryside, for example Monte Ferrante, right behind Carovilli with its Samnite remains, and a slightly more adventurous traverse of Monte Ingotta here and there you need to tread carefully if you stick right to the ridge. I could go on but I'd end up writing a guide book. We could keep coming back here time and time again, were it not for the wish to explore the wonderful Italian countryside in more depth. I should also add that both the cuisine and the accommodation at Monte Pizzi represent great value for money. Thanks again Nadia and Enzo for a memorable holiday. I managed to get my hands on 3 bottles of Opalia.............

This place is wonderful Nadia and her father and family run a great bed and breakfast. We traveled from America to visit ancestrial grounds in Castiglione and for a week we al were there. They speak English which helped as we tried a little Italian. The food is amazing, the hospitality wonderful. Their family was visiting too as it wa the week of Ferragosto, every one so pleasant there. Great atmosphere. It was a little bit of a home away from home for the week we were there. Highly recommend this wonderful place. If I ever make it back to the ancestrial lands I will stay here every time. They serve you with a smile every day all day.. GRAZIE MILLE

Went here with our Italian cousins from nearby Roccasicura. Although there were 4 of us, we ordered everything for 2...cold cuts/cheese appetizers, 2 pasta samples/person...one with tartuffo...delicious. Grilled meats were perfect, followed by espresso and dolce (amaretto tart? , and complimentary limoncello liquor to finish everything off. It was absolutely delicious and plenty of food for the 4 of us. Service was excellent and very friendly. Nadia did a great job! I will definitely return here again soon. Highly recommend!

Struttura molto consigliata. Dormite bene, cenate divinamente, luogo piacevole, confortevole, mantenuto; la sala da pranzo e la colazione è davvero bella per l'ambiente rustico.
