Bidra med feedbackBe warned...After reading of some recent upgrades to Grille 39, my wife and I decided to try it out for Valentines dinner. While the attempt was done and the service good, the food quality and preparation was comparable to a Red Lobster and not what you should expect in a $260 meal for two. The oysters Rockefeller was cold when served, we sent them back (Corey our waitress was awesome) and received replacements after about a 15 minute wait. My wife’s herbed chicken was nice but my Crab Stuffed Sea Bass was similar to a baked cod dish with a crab cake and tartar sauce on top. The asparagus we both had were the size of pencils and overcooked. The mashed potatoes were actually quite good, but they’re mashed potatoes... again for $250 your trying to compete with an upscale place like Ruth’s Chris or even Sullivan’s, which this was not even close.
Selected the restaurant because it did not say that it was only serving a very limited fixed price menu for Valentines Day. Surprise! And they even added 20% to the bill as gratuity. So we ended up with an over priced mediocre meal and three visits from our server, one to ask us if we had been helped, one to take our order and one to bring the bill. Had to ask runners to clear empty plates when they brought each course. We know Valentines Day is busy but not posting that you are serving a fixed price menu only, then blaming Open Table when other restaurants are is not appreciated.
Excellent food at a reasonable price. Cory, our server, was very good and very efficient.
Our first table was right under the vent so we had to move. The food was great with the exception of the corn chowder soup. Tasted like it was watered down at the last minute. Service was excellent. Somebody has got to do something about the music though-the same track gets repeated every ten minutes over and over again.
The food was wonderful. However, our server was not up to par and we waited almost an hour before food was served. And we didn't feel our server was understanding what we were asking.
