Bidra med feedbackWe had a delicious Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The lamb kofta and homemade tomato soup with warm bread rolls for starters were very tasty and juicy. For our main course, we both had the pork, which was nicely cooked, moist, and juicy. The creamy mash and crisp roast potatoes were excellent as well. The assortment of vegetables, including peas, beans, mangetout, cauliflower cheese, and roasted root veg, along with gravy, complemented the meal perfectly. The stuffing was particularly delicious, with just the right amount of salt crystals giving a great salt kick. Though we were too full for dessert, the staff were friendly and efficient, creating a nice atmosphere in the dining room. The owner made a point to stop by and greet us, ensuring that everything was satisfactory.
I had a wonderful dining experience at the Penny Bar. It was my first time there, but I will definitely be going back. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. I ordered the sea bass and it was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was inviting, and although it was busy, it was still quiet enough to have a comfortable conversation. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening and felt that the food and service were of excellent quality for the price. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The Full English Breakfast at this restaurant is absolutely fantastic. I decided to try the Laverbread for the first time and it was delicious! The staff is helpful and friendly, and the food is amazing. I highly recommend paying a visit.
Firstly the staff here are lovely, helpful and kind and the food was delicious. The spa is also very nice, clean and the treatment we had was amazing. However, that’s where the positives end! You get the impression firstly that every penny counts to the owner and corners are cut to achieve this…. Our breakfast coffee was so weak, we doubled up the coffee grounds from 2 cafetière to make it drinkable. The pot holding the cutlery had ONE marmalade, ONE jam and ONE marmite. If you wanted more, you had to ask!! There was very little contents in our bathroom shampoo, conditioner and body wash- it’s like they give you JUST enough to get by!! Be warned, the location is on a working farm. This comes with its own smells and when we stayed, a crazy amount of flies. Our room overlooked the farms heavy vehicles parking area, so in the evening when the muck spreader vehicle came back, it was rather whiffy to say the least. see pictures for closeness! The flies around the place were horrendous and we were constantly killing them by the dozen. See pics of our window ledge We also had a cold shower before dinner. When we inquired why, it was because the boiler had been off since the morning and they hadn’t noticed. They then lit the wood burner to warm the water, which led to us being smoked out in our room as the chimney for the burner was directly outside and the wind blowing right into our room. Window was open as it was 24 degrees outside . Another point to note is, they do not run tabs to the rooms. We had lunch on Saturday, after checking in. We then went about our day. In the evening when we ordered drinks at the bar, we were told that we had left without paying our lunch! We were totally taken aback, as it was never our intention to steal lunch!!! We had assumed, and not been told differently, that it was billed to our room and we would tally up on leaving. All together, it was not the greatest experience, and not a place we would add to our regular venues to visit.
Stayed at the St clears Travelodge, but their boxed breakfast did not appeal (along with the adjacent MC Donald s and Starbucks!! The hearty breakfast at the Penny bar more than repayed the effort of driving the 1.7 miles from the Travelodge and significantly exceeded in value, quality and quantity anything that McDonald's and Starbucks would have provided. The service was excellent, the ambience characterful and comfortable. Certainly will return
