Bidra med feedbackWe went there for teacakes a coffee and a hot chocolate. the service wad was friendly, efficient and slow fast. the teacskes were delicious, my man loved his coffee and my hot chocolate was from this world. the price was also appropriate. I'll bring my friend to lunch next week when she comes to visit.
We stayed on the way back from Scotland to shropshire to carlisle and looked for a place to lunch. the arches is very close to the cathedrale and looked clean and cheap. the tables were well spaced and friendly. we have the choice where we should sit, and the waitress was very friendly and attentive, not hurrying, but there when we needed them. So eat it. the menu has a selection of sandwiches, jacket kartoffels, cakes etc. as well as complete meal times and specialties on board. I had steakcake, packed with meat, very delicate and tasty. my wife had the plower who was massive and had everything on it, bee, sink, bee hearty, pickel, whirl, broth, all delicious. Together with two drinks it came to £18, so I'm not sure why a few people have criticized the price? Absolute bargain and filled us all the way back to shropshire. if we go back to carlisle, it will stop our first! thank you.
I and my sisters have ordered toasties and chips. the eating itself was in order, standard, no frills really. £1.90 for a dosis pop is a little extreme the whole place felt just a bit dubbby as if it was a really good deep clean. the cute was dirty so I ended with my fingering, I wouldn't hit back
Would absolutely not recommend eating here. I have eaten here twice and every experience was bad my recent experience, I came in and sat down when it wasn't busy at all. a few came a few minutes after me and was immediately served as I wait. the waitress (an older lady) went and the couple tried to get their attention at least 3 different paintings to me, but they were ignored after almost 10 minutes a younger girl came to serve me. I asked her about a table size of conductive water together with my order and she brought me a cup of water with small black foreign bodies into it. I had most of them drunk before I realized and she came back to replace it was not delicious, I ordered an salat and it was more like an arranged teller of random vegetables and obstinat, which was uncohesive, as if there was no thought behind the taste of the teller. it was not on the standard for the price. I ate 5% of my teller and just wanted to go. After I was raised and paid, I was told that they did not accept cards, only cash. that should have given me the second one I built myself. that was extremely unprofessional. they told me to go to the money machine, right on the street, what I did. this special atm does not accept mastercard, so I had to return to another, which was extremely unpleasant and frustrating because of its dishonestness, and the older woman asked why I did not eat my food. I explained it was not good, and she said it was an salate, I am sorry. Finally, the inability to be honest about the payment method was disturbing, and if honestly, it would have diverted me from eating here first, which is why I think they were not before me or anyone. Eating was unpleasant and I couldn't eat it. the culinary experience was ruined by the lack of attention for the guests.
A superb little coffee shop hidden down the pleasant back-streets of central Carlisle Fortunately we visited the place mid-morning with the shop half-full of customers. There's around 12 tables, roughly 5 at ground level and the remainder up four steps which may prove a little awkward for people who are unsteady on their feet and have to rely on sticks or crutches etc That said, the shop feels very cosy, fresh and clean. The tables were always cleared of old food, cups and plates within a couple of minutes of customers leaving; and the plastic table clothes were always wiped down properly, with no obvious mess on chairs or surrounding floor The menus are quite typical for a coffee shop scones, cakes, sandwiches, soups, hot toasties, full breakfasts. And some of the walls do carry special deals and/or chef's specials. And the good thing is that there is a waitress to take you order at your table. So you can always ask questions or ask for variations to your choice, and they are happy to do that for you In my case I went for ham cheese on wholemeal bread (the menu doesn't offer this combo, but by simply asking, they will oblige). I also had the soup of the day (home made thick and creamy vegetable), which was rather excellent The ham cheese sandwich came with the usual lettuce, tomatoes mayo side, but the entire meal was delightful, filling and very tasty To follow I went for a slice of apple pie and two scoops of vanilla ice cream, and a pot of tea. Again all very nice, especially the pie, which was rich with flavour and very filling During the hour I spent there the shop was beginning to reach capacity, and yet the three waitresses kept on top of things with ease; always patient, always with a smile on their faces and ready to help when needed Even though the final bill was around £14 or so I would definitely make a point of coming again, not least for the pleasant staff and surrounds; but also for the quality of food on offer.
