Beautiful house, which is much more relaxed and welcoming than others. No roped off areas you can touch everything! Lovely huge, light filled rooms with art deco carved wooden panelling plus some huge stained glass windows. The gardens are a nice blend of woodland and formal. We visited in April, when the tulips were lovely. No big herbaceous borders etc, but very nice. We had a very nice lunch, sitting out in the sun in the courtyard cafe. The staff in the cafe and volunteer guides in the house were all very friendly and helpful.
Always enjoy our yearly trip to the gardens. A cool windy day, but we'll sheltered in the gardens
Guided tour around the house was very informative. The gardens were lovely and well maintained. Seeing the deer were a highlight and made the visit more interesting. There was a small fairy trail for children.
Lovely few hours spent here with my three children. Gorgeous old house, beautiful garden, delicious cafe and even a children's play area... perfect all round :
