Xl Fish - Cardiff

Absolutely rubbish chip shop. Service took ages and only two people in front of me. Fish cake was like mush, chips were soggy, and sausage in bayter was like it was cooked last month. The curry sauce was also like water , its was way too runny. This place has become a complete shambles . Don't waste tour time here

The chips were decent, but the Clarks pie was absolutely terrible! It seemed to have been microwaved for too long, resulting in a soft, soggy, and spongy texture. I was very disappointed and will not be returning to this restaurant.

We haven't visited this restaurant in a while as we had been frequenting a different local chip shop. However, after deciding to stop by on a whim, we may have just found our new favorite spot. The chips were fantastic, with a generous portion size for the price. The pies were not your average ones and were of a higher quality than we are accustomed to. My wife ordered the fish, which was stunning, and the curry sauce we tried was delicious (although we didn't opt for the spicy one). The fact that we are already planning to return tonight for a treat speaks volumes about the quality of this establishment. We heard that new owners have recently taken over, and if this is any indication of what's to come, we hope they stick around for a while.

The restaurant has improved under the new management. There are no longer long lines like there used to be. The Clarke's pie, chips, and curry sauce are just as delicious as always. It's a satisfying meal to enjoy on the walk home.
