Bidra med feedbackWe stopped by for a drink today and were watching the Euro 2020 football match. During the game, one of the players required resuscitation and may have been in serious condition. Several customers in the pub requested for the music to be turned down out of respect for the situation. However, the owner's response to a group of men who asked was dismissive, stating that everyone had a tough year and that the rest of the pub wanted the music on. This lack of empathy and disrespectful attitude towards the situation was shocking, revealing that their priority was profit over the well-being of others. Despite the pub being full, it would have been a simple gesture to show some understanding. Instead, the owner chose to argue with the group until they left. In a year where many have suffered, it was disappointing to see such callous behavior. It is unfortunate that this pub is no longer a part of the Brains chain, as their standards would never have allowed for such behavior. It is truly disheartening to encounter such a terrible individual in charge of a place meant for socializing and enjoyment.
Lovely bar and very friendly bar staff. came in on a miserable rainy Sunday eve to a warm fire, even though it wasn’t very busy abi and Emily went above and beyond to make me and my family feel welcome! Good covid safety measures in place and great tasting ales!! Will be back very soon that’s for sure!
We visited The Goat Major during the pandemic in hopes of experiencing some of Cardiff's culture, which has been limited. Luckily, we discovered this authentic pub serving a variety of Brains bitters. What was supposed to be a quick drink turned into an extended evening. The highlight was Jade, who effortlessly managed the bar despite it being mainly a rugby pub. She even accommodated our football-focused Englishness without hesitation. Needless to say, we developed a fondness for her and the pub. A must-visit for pub-goers in Cardiff.
Lovely place to while away a few hours while the mrs does her rounds of the shops! Location, ambiance, staff. SPOT ON
I was recommended to visit the Goat Major and I was not disappointed. I tried the chicken and chorizo pie with mashed potatoes, which was delicious. Ryan was very helpful in choosing a pint of Brains to accompany my meal.
