Mike's - Cape Carteret

Waited a bit for a table, which is no big deal. But while I was waiting, I was reading their chalk boards around the cash register. And saw something I really wanted! So, when we got seated, he offered us menus, but I said, No, I don 't need one. Then I placed my order. Which they didn 't have. It was WRITTEN IN CHALK! How hard is it to erase CHALK if you 're out of something??? Needless to say, that set the tone for this meal. I ordered Biscuits and Gravy with over easy eggs. MEH. I don 't remember what hubby had. Would not go back. I believe that before a server says ANYTHING, they should report what they don 't have. It was WRITTEN IN CHALK! I remember what hubby had now. He had a salad but he had to remove a large amount of the lettuce from it because it had brown edges.

Nasty. I don't no where to start I got the pork chop and eggs the pork chop was greassy and nasty the potatoes was nasty looks like baked potato that they sliced We both asked for toast we got one piece each we asked for a side of gravy and biscuit so we could try it the biscuit was so hard and they put the biscuit on her plate They brought my plate out before hers so I just sit there to wait for her plate They need to know what seasoning and salt and pepper is I do not recommend this place I will not be back

Mike's in now Mark's! Mark's has diner style food. Good place for breakfast. Just a reasonable place to eat. Saturday and Sunday there's a breakfast buffet with French toast, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, eggs, waffles and fruit.

My wife and I had breakfast this morning and the food and service was very good. Coffee was good, pancakes were excellent and the eggs and grits were good too. The name of the restaurant is now MARK’S instead of Mike’s.

I understand it was busy because of Mother 's Day, but this was the first time I have ever had to leave a restaurant because of the service. Walking in, the hostess seemed like she had no idea what was going on and didn 't want to be there. We had a party of 7 and was also fine with getting split due to limited space, and we were. The other table got started with drinks by the hostess while we were left there to just sit and look at menus. 5 minutes go by with no one greeting us and we 're understanding because it 's busy, but then 10 minutes go by without anyone greeting us and I started to get a little irritated. I went up to the hostess to ask if we could get a server to which she just grimly replied uh, yeah . Another 5 minutes go by and I see her getting drinks for other tables, so we decided to just leave. I went up to the hostess and told her that we never got a server and that it 's been 15 minutes so we 're leaving, and she didn 't say sorry or anything, just looked at me. 5 minutes later we arrive at another restaurant and we get a call from our other party that they are leaving as well because they haven 't gotten served. This experience was absolutely ridiculous.
