A little gem actually. Nice home style cooked food. Not ridiculously overpriced like some places in the city. Some good ale and cider options too plus friendly South African landlord. Definitely doing a good job here
Met up with some friends. Had a really good afternoon and evening. Food was very nice. We don't live in Canterbury so it was a one off event, we are happy to recommend a visit if you find yourself in the area.
We booked a table for this lovely looking old pub for an early dinner. We had to ask to be seated away from the large sports tv, and then had to go to the bar to ask for menus after waiting at the table for 5min without being brought one. We went up to order, the barman was indifferent, and then informed us that we couldn’t have either of the dishes we wanted because they didn’t have any eggs (no apology) despite they’re situated within a stone’s throw of a grocery shop and Sainsbury’s. Felt quite unwelcome so decided to dine elsewhere.
A fantastic pub, with a bar billiards table. Always a great selection of local ales and other drinks. Friendly knowledgeable staff with a fantastic setting and beautiful 17th century pub. We have a recentl baby and the staff were lovely and plenty accommodating for our needs
