Need something quick its the spot. Food is well prepared service is good.Location lets you shop before and after without extra transportation.
Good food, very reasonably priced, and since it's by the water you get a nice view and very nice breezes! Much appreciated because it was SO hot when we were there!!
Late last month some of my friends and I happened to be in the hotel zone. We normally try to avoid the nice but more expensive restaurants located there. Once before I had dined here at The Restaurant La Isla which is located in the rear of the Sina Suites Hotel at Kilometer 7.9 just off Kukulcan Blvd. on Calle(street) Quetzal. This area is close to the Pok Ta Pok Golf Course. The waiters have worked there for a long time. While the service can be a little slow the food is very good with friendly service. Since I have lived and worked here in tourism for many years I try to remind visitors from up north and europe that life here normally goes at a slower pace and hey you are on vacation so what is the big rush? lol! The restaurant opens for lunch about 1-PM. If you are on a budget and yet want a good meal check out this nice little restaurant.
Our group of ten arrived at this highly acclaimed new spot in the hotel zone shopping village at 7:30 pm and we asked for our check and exited at 10:30pm. Service was friendly but very slow. Granted the other Thai adventures were not in Cancun, most in the party did not rate this restaurant among their best experiences in dining in Cancun. The food was just not presented as is typical in our experience of otherThai or Asian establishments. Frankly I have had better Thai food at much more reasonable prices on several occasions. This is an outdoor restaurant and we were seated in one of their many private dining areas (a thatched hut, uncomfortable wood picnic style bench table and benches) situated on the Nichutpe Lagoon that borders the shopping village. Lighting was limited and we used our cell phone flash to read the menu. Being outside we would regularly feed from under the table a slight mist of what I assumed to be insect repellent. The best I can say for this experience is, it's new, well intentioned effort at ambiance, it's different and the service was clearly focused on treating us well. I like Thia food but I doubt I will venture back to this restaurant when next in Cancun.
