Gustino - Cancún

We came here twice while staying at the JW Marriott hotel. The first night was great! Our waiter, Ludin, I believe his name was awesome! Very attentive and polite. We had great service and our dishes were great. However, the second time we came, it was not as great. We had a different server (I believe Michael) who seemed to disappear for several minutes throughout our dinner. The dishes were okay second time around. Ludin made our first dinner a great experience. What a great server!Overall, not bad with reasonable prices.

Located in the JW Marriott this is a first class Italian restaurant. I’ve eaten here many times over the years and I am always impressed. The chefs are Italian trained and they blend the best of Italy with the extraordinary fresh ingredients from the local area. I had the Bavette ai Fruitti di Mare - Gulf shrimp, diver scallops, Baja mussels, calamari and Caribbean lobster sautéed in garlic, saffron, butter and white wine. Wow! Great taste and enough to share many bites all around our table of six.

We were at the Gustino (JW Marriott)few weeks back, family of 3. Weird restaurant, nice space but you cannot see a thing as the lack of light inside, huge center table with tons of candles, very spiritual...We took couples of appetizers, 3 main dishes and 1 dessert for our kid. Except for desert, all were simply absolutely bad, carpaccio beef salad, carbonara pasta, ragout pasta, ... only classical Italian dishes. $125 check. Only positive point was our waiter, nice and pro.An very overprice, dark and unpleasant food experience.

This restaurant has wonderful ambience, great service, but not your regular Italian cuisine. It's more of a hybrid Mexican/Italian restaurant. Traditional Italian dishes are not really available. If you want your typical spaghetti and meatballs this is not the place. If you want unique specialized Italian food this is your place. Prices are on the high side.

This is a really beautiful place - great place for a celebratory dinner. The food is good - mostly seafood, but some other options. Options for kids.
