La comida en este restaurante es aceptable, tienen variedad de pescado, algo reseñable ya que la comida yucateca consta sobre todo de carne. El camarero que nos atendió fue muy servicial en todo momento, pero a la hora de pagar nos sorprendió que un resto así no tuviera opción de datafono, le ofrecimos pagar en euros pero una pequeña parte de la cuenta tuvimos que ponerla en monedas, no nos las aceptaron y mi compañera tuvo que ir al cajero, ellos sugirieron que una de las dls se quedara, como prueba de que volvería, este detalle hizo que la opinión que me merece Carrillo's no sea buena, el trato y la atención es el 50% de la experiencia en un restaurante y más en una zona turistica. Suerte. No volveré.
We stumbled upon this place, en route to somewhere else, and remembered reading about it in the Lonely Planet Guide. The amiable hustler outside enticed us in with a two for one offer on the surf and turf option. The food was first class - and hugely better than the slightly down at heel location (up a claustrophobic side-road in not the best part of downtown Cancun) would suggest. Steak was properly cooked, lobster was startlingly fresh, trimmings were uniformly excellent (though some of the chilli dips were ferocious!). Drinks were very reasonable and the Margharitas should be illegal (don't take the hire car!). The total bill for our evening was ridiculously low for the quality offered - and far cheaper than the more fashionable locations on the Spit. The restaurant was very quiet when we visited (7.00 p.m. on a Monday, but in high season)and therefore not atmospheric. Service was cheerful and amiable. No credit cards, which is an irritation. Well worth a visit nonetheless.
Just wanted to pass on our experience at Carrillo's in Cancun. The food was excellent although the place is not easy to find. I tried to use my EP card for 2x1 lobster which is on the printout you get from EP. We were told it was not good on lobster so disappointed that we were not able to use the card.
We enjoyed our meal the last time we visited Cancun and decided to go again this visit.This time my husband and I shared one of the platters for two (steak, lobster, shrimp, and fish). The steak was dry and on the tough side. The lobster was okay but had been cooked a little too long. The shrimp and fish were pretty good. The calamari appetizer was okay. It appears the three for one drink specials they used to have are a thing of the past though as the price was more than we expected. The price was not too bad considering we had drinks but there are better places that cost less. We only visited Carillo’s once during our two week trip. We might return again our next visit and give them another chance – but I think we’ll stick to the fish next time.
