Buena Vista Social Cafe

Very few places are able to combine authentic culture, food and ambiance to their establishment, Buena Vista in the CBD has done just that. As you walk in you are greater with good service and the scenery is amazing, feel like you in a Cuban restaurant. The food is great, my go to meal is the Pollo (chicken) Nachos, or the jalapeños with feta.. summer evening in the court yard is a must, one of Cape Town's finest..

I was really impressed by this place. I've been passing it on Long Street for a while and today I finally decided to pop in. <br/ <br/ I love Cuban restaurants, and this could easily be one of my top 5.<br/ <br/ The atmosphere is amazing, their drinks are served beautifully and the staff are friendly. We had wings and chili poppers a recommendation from my friend, and it was AMAZING! The dip that cane with it was barbecue with crushed chilies that left you wanting more. Definitely visiting again.

Caipirinha were fantastic, no food this time... But will try next time! Decor and detail was amazing, waiters and staff very good, love the sidewalk tables...

My hubby Mark Coetzee treated me to a chilled little date night at Buena Vista as he was told that they make really good chilli poppers and I am a HUGE fan. <br/ <br/ We shared a portion of chilli poppers , which then turned into two portions , a plate of nachos and their Burger Del Toro. It was all really tasty and the waiter serving us was really good and not one of those who hang around and ask too many times if you are ok . <br/ <br/ I liked the candle lit vibe but the music was a bit loud for our liking as we couldn't really hear one another. But all in all, it was a good food experience and we definitely left with our belly's over full .

An awesome spot for cocktails, munchies and catch up sessions with your friends. The vibe is hip and laid back. Friendly hosts and I love the fact that the munchie portions are nice and huge, creates a lovely lining for large alcohol consumptions.
