Eclisse Il Ristorantino Del Nonno

I am staying a few miles away from la traversa, that's where the Eclisse is. The food is excellent and the owner is the nicest you will ever meet. The place is very clean but the food is the real reason we are here. Way to go. Four years now and will be coming here until the place will be open. I heard rumors of retirement in the next 3 or 4 years.

The lady in charge from the kitchen is from Modena , so homemade pasta , grill meat , are the specialities of the house . The pizza is good too.

My visit to Teramo was highlighted by the goodness of this restaurant. We, my mom who is 88 years old, my brothers and I, made numerous visits and fund the food fresh, good and underpriced. We became friends with the only server and she greeted us as soon we were at the door: quite refreshing if you came from the states where impersonal is the rule of thumb. The owner, a young lady in her 50sh, I guess, always made a point to came to the table and chat with us. Homemade tortelloni and grigliata mista is my favorite but the daily menu is very good too.

We choose it from tripadvisor on our way to Giulianova. We arrived 13.50, 10 minutes before siesta and we were not kicked out : we ordered salat and pasta. House wine was good and really cheap. Menu is in Italy and nobody speaks English, so take this into account. Tripadvisor Map shows wrong place! You have to drive more if you come from Teramo (about 100m and turn right and after about 100m it is on left side, in an industrial look house.

The Eclisse, Restaurant of the Grandfather is a simple yet cozy and welcoming restaurant. It is ran and fully managed from its owner, a passionate and competent lady cook who is transmitting all of herself into what she is serving to the table. She likes to match your desires and expectations yet serving her best recipes. At Eclisse I discovered tastes who brought me back to the times my grandma was cooking for the family for the main events of the year. Pasta home and hand made, tigelle with a glorious assortment of dressings were the delight of our experience. Eclisse, a must stop if you pass by and actually a must go if you are in the neighbourhood. Enjoy your meal
