Agriturismo Dal Montanaro - Campli

Spent a Sunday afternoon at this really cool agriturismo. When I say afternoon I am not joking. We arrived at 1:30 and left around 5:00 It would have taken longer but we skipped a few courses. We just couldn 't handle it. That was the negative. However, the food was incredible, plentiful and abundant. This restaurant utilizes it 's own produce and meats for the meal meaning everything is local and fresh. Started with Cheese and meat course-very good followed by a huge platter with various antipasti 's on it. Too many items to mention as well as a hot bean dish. the meal continued with a small individual lasagna -different than a traditional lasagna. Pasta dish next, then the mixed grill(grilled meat). There is also a meat stew which we weren 't served-not sure why. Maybe they could tell how full we were from the look on our face and the size of our tummies. They also skipped the salad which we really wanted. Our companion , who spoke Italian, had asked them to stop serving. Dessert was tiramisu. This is an incredible experience and a favorite with locals. The reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 was the length of the meal. I am used to long meal in Italy but this was way too long for me.
