Bidra med feedbackVery lively and busy place, staff are enthusiastic and although they may take a while to get to you as they were very busy, it is worth it. ordered the vegan bowl, was so so yummy and the veggies were absolutely delicious very warm! also got a slice of blueberry quinoa bread ? for a snack and it was very dense and good when eaten cold! all the food behind the display looked so tempting, if you happen to pass by this place defo give it a shot.
Four of us popped in for a late breakfast or early lunch and for a smallish country town this Cafe was very busy. It spread across what was originally the shops, with ample seating and a huge selection of food from sandwiches, focaccias, pies, pasties, hot prepared meals to order from a smallish menu and a huge selection of cakes and sweets. The staff were so good, they approached their customers with a smile and when we placed our order we were greeted with a 'Hi, welcome to Camperdown... ' There 's some footpath outdoor seating with umbrellas with comfortable tables and chairs. My breakfast was just right, the eggs and bacon with mushrooms and the fresh squeezed orange juice was great as too were our two rounds of coffee. They 're doing a great job here and if you 're passing through, make a so here!
Camperdown proved a worthwhile pit stop when heading back from my road trip across the State. I arrived late in the afternoon to find most shops closed, and with The Loaf and Lounge Bakery winding down for the day. Sat in the cake cabinet was one last solo vanilla slice as if fate had already decided it’s eventual consumer. At a reasonable $3.90 the slice was well conceived and offered good value for money overall. The pastry was an excellent dark brown colour, almost verging on burnt, but deliciously rich and salty. It crumbled and flaked when bit, but offered excellent stability when gripping. The custard too was a great recipe and texture; thick, eggy, dark yellow and sweet with vanilla. What let the slice down was the icing, which proved to be a synthetic raspberry flavour that sadly overpowered all the good elements of the slice. It was unavoidable to consume when the icing’s soft and gooey texture allowed finger print impressions to be made. Nevertheless, I was willing to overlook the taste of the icing in favour of the other great elements.
The best $38.00 I've ever spent on food. The Paninis are really good and for their prices are actually barging. Chips are delicious while pies and burgers encourag you to come and eat me. We were super satisfied.
One of the better cafes and bakeries in this small town. Our stopover pie shop when we’re road tripping. Have a good range of pies including scallop curry pie, a fave of mine. Home style food and also do some paninis and good breakfast menu. Great range of home style baked deserts including mega jelly and vanilla slices to take home. Good atmosphere on a corner location. Table service not the best, has always feels like staff are a bit disorientated and can be slow but still one of the best in this town.
