La Trattoria Di Calvo Giovanni - Camino

Recommended by our hotel, we went to this trattoria in search of real authentic local food, and we went to the right place!! it's mainly for local people, very affordable prices, right portion of food, friendly atmosphere you name it. we had local cold cuts, beef tartare, bagna cauda on peperoni as antipasto, then fritto misto (very typical dish , rivioli in broth and bollito (ox tongue if you dare to eat but it's excellent!!! , pannacotta and a semifreddo with hazelnut as dessert, a local wine of 12 euros, coffee and liquor, we were so happy and so full after this dinner experience. the key point is you really eat something typical and authentic (eat like a local there and not treated like stupid tourists. the piemonte beef is really good meat even i am a die-hard fan of US corn-fed dried aged but i have learnt to appreciate piemonte beef with more interests.
