Bidra med feedbackConsidering the large number of staff not impressed with the service. Ages to answer phone. Want to charge extra £30 to check in before 3 when its predominantly a wedding venue that you need to be ready before then. £12 for a very basic sandwich with stale bread to be fair when manager found out were presented with a bottle of wine) . Bar prices are quite high. Decor not very exciting at all. Could be so much better . Room had had a lot spent on it, however its in the roof so not much insulation and single glazed windows that dripped condensation and it was only October. Bathroom was a very well done expensive one and room decorated well. Mattress and pillow not great. Hopefully improvements will be made as it has the potential to be top notch! The hotel was very nice, we upgraded to a 4 poster bedroom, as we were celebrating. So the room had some nice touches to it. But one of issues, which is a very small issue is the box of 'tissues ' on the bed side table were actually the toilet tissues that you find in a public toilet cubicle....not what you would expect to find in a 4* hotel! The main issue with the hotel was the service and the very over priced Afternoon tea. The tea was priced at £24.95 per person, which was ridiculous, the quality and quantity of the cakes was very poor, one tiny scoop of clotted cream between 2 of us, the cakes were all different sizes, all very disappointing! We had dinner booked in the restaurant for the evening which was very nice food, just very slow service, waiting 20 mins for someone to take our drinks order. The wine list was just a crumpled A4 sheet of paper, with just the country the wine was from, not what type of wine it was, very unprofessional. There was a wedding on at the hotel, which we weren 't told about when we made the booking, so it seems that all their efforts went on the wedding, not other paying guests, and as out one night with afternoon tea and wine as an extra came to nearly £400 it was a very disappointing weekend and really wasn 't worth the money we paid. Food drinks: I opted for the scrambled egg on sourdough for breakfast, one slice turned up, the toast was burnt and the eggs were a weird off yellow colour. The coffee was undrinkable, not pastries left when I went to get something else to eat....all very poor Rooms: 4 Service: 2 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Quiet
The room we were in was outside of the main hotel in a purpose built block. It was next to the fire exit that was in constant use. The handle on the window was broken and there was no double glazing. Breakfast was very nice, but coffee from a flask was not very good. Staff at breakfast were very nice as was the young man on the desk in the spa. Noteworthy details: There is a nice swimming pool at the hotel but it is smaller than the picture makes out. Rooms: 3 Service: 3 Location: 3 Hotel highlights: Kid-friendly
