Bidra med feedbackWe booked (because the number of guests was modest was not disturbed) an early dinner reservation in the hope to catch a sunset water view. the male staff was cheerful and promptly sitting in us and order our meal and drinks (beer from the hahn and a bottle of beer). it took an unexpectedly long time until the simple drink order came to the table, but nevertheless they arrived. we decided specifically for this restaurant because we both wanted a steakmahl. the steak was disappointing and I left a quarter of his indefinite Gristle content on my teller. many eat options (with view) in caloundra, so no need to go back.
We are holiday in caloundra and we were so excited to see this beautiful restaurant near the water and the atmosphere looked great! but at 18 o'clock on Friday night we would have seen the few people there as signs to lead the other direction. first, tap beer was flat and abused, gave them another away, bottle beer warm. strawberry bliss mock **** was a standard “fire engine” with a clear price. we do not have our shoulders to choose and do not let it ruin a great night. was a $18 serving prepacked “Fritten Camembert” on salad leaves and carrots? the waiter told us, "oh and if we forget that they just come into the bar to order." Why would that happen in a table restaurant with two tables? the “waiter” that might have been the owner, seemed confused with simple asking and struck us a special one that I ordered, huren. my “Barramundi Rissoto”- came out as fish, chips and salat flour, in which when I asked the “waiter/owner”, no, it was salmon? he then realized that there was actually a barramundi, and that it was so starving to me. the fish was far over boiled and a small piece with undercooked and cold chips, scorpus skin off salat and frozen ?prawn twisters. I can't be sure what the sauce was because it wasn't my intended meal. I returned to ask what it was, and the waiter/owner said: "oh we changed the special after the order I'm sorry". I'm sorry, but what if they change an order, they'll tell the customer. also the price for the “new court” I never ordered was more expensive than at the time one I ordered and they still wanted to charge me without telling me. it was infallible, regardless of the fact that another waitress removed it for us. we went to the cash to pay, and both waiters/wages ran from the bar and left the poor young bartender to hear our complaining. we told them to take the main meal that was returned, and we didn't pay for it. no real excuse, no attempt to correct the problems. hubby's meal was usual, he got the breakfast parmi, which also had stone cold chips and the salat was out, after 10 hours drive he was hungry and ate it independent. we'll never be back, and make sure nobody else makes the same mistake. it's as a shame as it is in such a beautiful location and even had a live guitarist. I'm sorry, I couldn't save it.
Had a really nice battered fish and veges for a great value price. Didn't plan to have sweets, but ordered the plum pudding. So glad i did, delicious pudding with ice-cream and whipped cream. Went home very content.
For a midweek dine out experience my partner and I decided to try a new bar and grill we’ve never been to before. Corner Pocket had the best views and the menu looked mouth watering! We arrived and were greeted by an amazing waitress with...the best personality. We ordered a few drinks and decided on our mains. Not long after my partner sat down, the chef came out and apologised about the delay and said he would refund our whole Parmi. We were confused, and went up to the waitress and asked her what was happening with the food. She told us that they had run out of avocado, however my partner looked over into the kitchen and saw said chef scooping out an avocado. Maybe it was for a previous meal, maybe not. But we said we didn’t want a full refund, just give us what you had. Our Breakfast Parmi (which was meant to be served with Bacon, Avocado and Hollandaise Sauce) came out with Ham and Avocado only. So the only thing they said they didn’t have, was in fact the only thing they did have. We also ordered the 300g Rib Eye Fillet cooked medium rare with chips and salad as well as a side of mushroom sauce and aioli. When this main was served to us, there was no aioli, I let the waiter know and he went back to get some for us. We then noticed that our “salad” consisted of nothing but a few bits of wilted rocket and leafy mix. Upon cutting my steak with only the butter knife that was given to us, I noticed it was almost Bleu and was tough to cut. I took my plate up to the chef and let him know not only was the steak not to its standards but there was no “salad” on the plate either, to which he asked me “where’d your salad go?” I don’t know man, you tell me. I said to the chef to save time I was more than happy for him to just chuck it back on the grill for an extra few minutes each side. The waiter brought us out our dish a few minutes later and we were happy to see that not only our steak improved, so did our poor salad. We happily started to dig in, I told my partner the steak didn’t taste right, maybe it just needed some seasoning. He put salt and pepper on it, took a mouthful and agreed that it tasted like it had been frozen, microwaved then cooked up for service. By the end of it we were okay with the Parmi. As we’re finishing our last drinks, we witness what we thought were a couple of young ladies with kids complaining about the food, and after they left, we saw the chef, the barmaid, and the manager standing around their table having a serious conversation and then saw the manager grab a handful of food on one of the plates and eat it, much to our disgust. It was time to go home, we went up to pay our bill and the barmaid asked how everything was, we told her the Parmi was okay, however the steak tasted like it had been frozen, microwaved and then cooked on the grill. To which she replied that they always get amazing compliments about their steaks, however they are frozen and then cooked as per ordering. Overall, the place has so much potential with the spot that it is in, a great venue, however feel as though they need to find a menu that works best for them.
Australia Day dinner with wife and another couple. Nice ambience, with young lady singing at the bar. Wife and I ordered the chicken schnitzel. Looked good on arrival. The chicken was golden, hot and tasteful. Sadly the chips were cold. Not tepid or warm, but...frankly cold. Must have been plated at the time of order, then left in wait for the schnitzel. The salad was a bland affair with shredded iceberg lettuce, little diced tomato and supermarket cucumber pieces. No dressing. Tasteless I'm afraid. Started the evening with great expectations, but sadly unmet. We had had much better fare at the surf club on the previous evening.
