Bidra med feedbackWe found this restaurant while looking for vegetarian food for the veggie of our group (the rest of us are carnivores). The vegetarian paella was excellent. Filled with fresh vegetables and lots of food for one person. The two other people in our group had fish and seafood, both were good. The atmosphere and service were both great. Prices are slightly higher than other places we found in Cartagena, but it is worth it. Very recommended.
I had been walking the streets of Old Town Cartagena and happened to spot Torre Luna and something drew me to the peaceful atmosphere. The dining room is serene and cool even on a hot day. I had an incredible shrimp sandwich with a couple glasses of white wine ....... followed by an espresso. It was the perfect break on a day of walking in Cartagena. Torre Luna has has signs outside the restaurant promoting their vegetarian dishes but they have a several entrees with fish as well.
Beautiful location in the middle of a charming Cartagena street. We ordered the vegetarian paella, which, although not strictly a paella and overpriced, was a very delicious vegetarian rice dish. But the Auberginen-Lasagne was regrettable. At first glance it seemed to be a bowl of undermelted cheese and white sauce, and at further inspection it turned out to be a little more than that. Admittedly, cheese combined with tiny amounts of eggplants and pasta is a delicious combination. Nevertheless, this court should not be considered lasagna and became sick after a few mouthful people. The staff was polite and attentive. Although the lasagna was disappointing, the menu offered a wider choice of vegetarian options than elsewhere in Cartagena.
I liked the Spinat Lasagne in this vegetarian restaurant. It was tasty, a good part and really vegetarian, not just a fake court. I don't like the Chinese interior of the restaurant, but this is a matter of taste. It makes me feel I pay for the decoration that does not add to the food where I come from. The waiter tried to practice his English on me, which was a nice effort. The service was good and I like to come back.
My husband and I are always looking for vegetarian-friendly options and were very pleased with our experience at Torre Luna this evening. The restaurant is very simple but elegant, the service was excellent and the food delicious. It has a full non-vegetarian menu too, but the back of the menu is devoted to non-meat options. We shared a Waldorf salad to start. It was not the chopped up apple-raisin-nut-mayo salad we're used to in the US, but instead was thinly sliced apples that had a lemony tang, raisins and halved almonds on top of a bed of lettuce with a lovely light lemony dressing. Then my husband had a vegetarian lasagna with tofu instead of cheese which was really tasty. The lasagna noodles were much thinner that you usually find in lasagna, so it was a lighter dish. I ordered pasta primavera, but what I got was more like a pasta pomodoro--thin spaghetti noodles with lots of fresh chopped tomatoes, garlic and basil (why can't we get tasty tomatoes at home like they have everywhere in Colombia?? . A nice flan for dessert, and we were stuffed. We will try and get back to Torre Luna before we eave.
