Bidra med feedbackThis place came highly recommended by Sara, our tour guide. It's on the same street as the Serezuela mall, 2 doors down. The typical cartagena arepa was fantastic. Guys were super nice. Clean place. Boost your energy and next, THE MALL!!!
We ate there 4x in our week in Cartagena it's a great place to go for lunch, but get there early for the best selection of dishes and fresh juices. I tried pollo guisado and bandeja de carne which were both really good, but...I was a bit disappointed with the chicharron con yuca which was a bit bland and dry. Their most expensive meal with a fresh juice is about $4.20 as of May 2018.
Went here twice during our Cartagena vacation. Each platter with grilled meat, chicken or pork, rice, salad and fritters is under 3$US (8,000 Colombian pesos). Their chicha de arroz was the best we had while in Colombia. For under 7$ US, a couple orders 2...platters and 2 drinks and tips the waiter very well. This is a good spot for fritters after 3 pm. Arepas and carimañolas are the lowest price here. Everywhere else they cost twice as much.
They have a lot of different kinds of Arepaehuevo: with Chorizo, Chicharron, Shrimps... all delicious. You will find the place a little ordinary, but the food wasn't.
This place is not touristy, but it's worth the visit. I'd say don't bring any extra money, jewel or documents for we didn't particularly like the area... but the food was amazing and the environment great. It looks like the Mecca of costeño fried foods....They had all kinds of egg filled arepas with any kinds of filling, plus carimañolas and other Cartagenian foods. Delicious! But quite unhealthy! Bring cash and an empty stomach :
