Zaafran Lounge Grill - Calgary

I have always been a fan of shisha and the usual places in calgary are extremely claustrophobic and badly ventilated. that is not the case with zaafran at all. it is super clean with relaxing decor that does not make it like there's smoking everywhere and the walls are closed on them. I love their open space seat arrangement and then there is the actual hookah itself. it is very well made and easy to smoke. my favourite meal is the 'tandoori chicken burger.' I had it every time I was in zaafran!

After a late flight from Vancouver, we discovered that this was the only restaurant open with Halal options. We decided to give it a try and were delighted to enjoy food that was both delicious and freshly prepared right in front of us.

The shisha at this restaurant is decent, but the music is too loud, making it hard to have a conversation with friends. The seating is more like a bar or lounge, not a traditional shisha lounge. The mixed grill plate was tasty, but avoid the Masala fries as the spices used were unpleasant. The prices are reasonable. I would come back again if they lower the music volume and play a more varied selection instead of just 10-15 year old hip hop and R&B songs on repeat.

Great food, but not great service. The bill was just a paper with the sum, but not listing what you ordered, no one comes to ask you how the food tastes or if you enjoy it. You need servers down when you need anytime, your glass of water will never be refilled. You can pay for your food with Debit/Kredit, but cannot pay the server tip. Cash for servers. Tickets for food. But the food was amazingly good. ? We were told twice that no alcohol is served here, although we both never asked for alcohol; we just don't drink alcohol. We chose this place for the alcohol-free aspect for a safer, quiet and quiet atmosphere. Very strange.

Best authentic Hyderabadi Biryani in the city. Food quality is great. Mr. Neelkanth's customer service was really satisfied. Combination of Great Service and Tasty Food. I recommend this place to everyone.
