Bidra med feedbackThis little gem is a favorite of my wife and I. Tucked away in a little strip mall on 19th st NW just north of Kensington Ave.Same wife and husband combo for years. Simple not fancy atmosphere, busy with local families and couples. Serving comfort foods at a fair price.Tasty traditional style pizzas, oven-baked pastas, satisfying burgers and simple but fresh salads. Wine served by the 1/2 or full carafe. They do a brisk take out business too. When you're too tired to cook but don't want the fancy atmosphere of Calgary's highlife restaurant scene, Vina is a place you need to consider.
Small family run, really warm and clean place. Nice crusty pizza. Great topping. Great place to bring family. Clean place a people are really nice.
I would rate Vina as very good primarily because this is a nice neighbourhood restaurant with good prices and nice, friendly service. Hard to find in Calgary. The food is all homemade and nicely done. My go to is the cheeseburger with bacon on a gluten free bun with fries!
We just flew into Calgary and stumbled on this restaurant. Not knowing what to expect, we decided to take a chance. Wow, was this worth the risk. We were treated warmly and the food was great. I had the chicken souvlaki and it was cooked to perfection with a great tzatziki on the side. My wife loved the Alfredo and my daughter, a notoriously picky eater, wolfed down the spaghetti in pomodoro sauce. The service was great and the people were very friendly. This place was quite the find and worth a return.
I have written two other reviews of Vina Pizza & Steakhouse and finally tonight I remembered to take a picture of the delicious pizza before we dug into it. I had to remind my husband of that before he grabbed the first piece! We usually get the X-Large House Special so we can have it for two nights and it really is a good size and is very reasonable. I think for the pizza and one Coca-Cola, plus tax it was $28.60 or something like that. I was at another pizza restaurant meeting a friend last week and I think I may have paid that price for a medium pizza that didn't even compare with this one. I've also had their Veggie pizza and also really enjoyed that. Elizabeth, one of the owners, always asks if we're having the usual so we're not ones to change when we enjoy something so much. I wanted a new picture because someone posted a picture of a pizza that shows up when you type in Vina Pizza and their pizza does not look like that - it's way better. Anyway, this is our favorite pizza joint and it's in a good location, just down from Kensington Road on 19th Street N.W. If you like delicious thick crust on a pizza, you must try Vina!
