Silver City - Calgary

This Silver City is great. It used to be in Panorama Hills but moved to 130th Street in the South East. This location had a decent, inexpensive lunchtime buffet. I suggested this location to friends and they said the takeout was good and larger than competitive locations.

I always order take out or delivery and the food never disappoints! The portions are big, the food is fresh, everything is flavorful and it never takes too long to be ready. Our usual dishes are ginger beef, salt and pepper prawns, beef in black bean sauce, seafood chow mein, Singapore noodles, beef ho fun. Would recommend this place and will definitely be back again!

The current owner makes a very traditional Chinese menu but with some new twist so if people expect the typical made for Canadian Chinese, this may not be the place. However, you want very traditional and real Chinese, you will be in a treat. We really like the Steamed Fish Steak with Drilled Vegs and Soy Sauce, Thai Curry Beef Flank and Salty Plum Pork Hock, etc. The Fried Quail makes a great appetizer, too.

Price is fair which is pretty much the same as other Chinese restaurants. However the food are great with good size proportion. They also have attentive and friendly services. Usually come with soup and dessert with a full meal. Overall a good alternative out of the downtown core.
