Pebble Street - Calgary

We've come here a few times over the years, and it's always about the same: very mediocre. Any service is basically non-existent and perhaps one of the worst, as the waitresses don't ever pay attention to you. You need to make them seat you, then they forget all about you, so you need to flag them down to order. The food is ok, nothing amazing. Their menu could use more variety, as it never seems to change. Prices are also a little higher than other restaurants, and the seating is rather uncomfortable.

MANDATORY 10% SERVICE CHARGE?? Came here for lunch on a weekday with only 3 of us together and they automatically added a 10% service charge at the end of our bill. Is that a new thing? I've only ever been charged for larger groups like 5-6 or more. If this really is how they're going to run their business I DEFINITELY won't return and will advise my friends and family of the service charge. It's probably the restaurant's fault if they feel people aren't tipping well enough that they need to enforce a service charge. I've been to other restaurants from the Taste of Asia group and the service is always bad. Other people have complained too, just read all the reviews! I'd be more okay with the charge if their service was actually good, but the servers never check up on you and you have to constantly call and wave someone down. And when you do get someone, they act rather rude and feel like they don't want to serve you. So why am I paying 10% for such BAD SERVICE????

My to go place for Chinese food for over 10 years. Pebble street never disappoints, they always have consistency with their food. Love the Shanghai noodle, beef hot fan, big splendor friend rice, bake rice and dim sum is always good there too. Will always be a favorite place to go to.

This place has gone downhill. The booth seats used to have cushions at the back, now it's just hard metal and makes the dining experience very uncomfortable. Food is bad. Ordered Haianese rice combo and the chicken is the most saddest looking thing that I've ever seen from a Chinese restaurant.

I ordered the shrimp wonton soup today. Over 15 minute wait and only 5 wontons, egg noodle and no vegetables. Weakest soup broth I have tasted in my 60+ years as an asian. Will never come back! Rude servers, slow service and poor quality. Not sure what happened but used to like coming here over the last 4 years. Dish was $13.95.
