Bidra med feedbackBecause of our first visit in this restaurant, we thought of coming back the second time around to celebrate Chinese New Year as they have good duck menu and my husband love duck. We ordered the 2 item Peking duck with minced duck lettuce wrap. This menu usually comes with a dessert. When we were done eating our meal we thought about the dessert as I remember the first time, we ordered the same meal they gave us the dessert but this time we have to asked them about it as they didn't serve it. Unfortunately, this time the dessert doesn't taste good. Their service also took so long for them to come to our table. They were more friendly the first time we visited the place, and all the food is also good in our first visit. Overall, we are kind of disappointed with our visit this time around.
Drop by for lunch around 11:30 on Sunday. Stood at the doorway while staff ignored us. We were the only ones waiting at that point. Finally asked the cashier if we had to register for table with her. She said it was not her job and to talk to the staff. More time goes by while nobody acknowledges or makes eye contact with us. Ask the cashier again and she advised that we have to wave staff down. All the time, there were tables available. Though a couple of servers were friend, we seemed to be an inconvenience to most and one that literally threw down the napkins we asked for while she walked past our table. SO INCREDIBILY RUDE! So many other good Chinese restaurants in Calgay, I would recommend going anywhere else where they appreciate customers.
We finally able to try the food in this restaurant and I would say that they serve authentic Chinese food. Their servings are huge and worth your money. The service was good too. We ordered 2 item duck meal and ginger beef. That is the duck I usually eat in Chinese restaurants in the Philippines. We even took home our left over as the serving was good for 3-4 people. We even didn't know that our meal has dessert and it was good. We will definitely go back again.
Certain things are good but certain things are so so. We ordered 8 dishes, probably half are good. Claims cooked in rice wine, stir fried snow pea tips, chicken hot pot and lamb hot pot are good. The stir fried gui-lan is so so because the vegetables was cooked in boiling water before stir fry to save time. The bitter melon is bland and hard because the cook didn’t give more time and patience to cook it to make sure sauce getting into the melon. Dessert, red bean sweet soup, was too sweet. Overall, everything is okay. Customer service was good, no complaints.
It was lunch time and we were in the Pacific Place Mall in Calgary. We came across the Forbidden City Restaurant and decided to give it a try. The restaurant offers menu items and as we were there over the lunch hour, Din Sum. We chose the latter and were not disappointed. We completed a card with our selections and our server graciously took our card away to the kitchen. In a very short period of time our table was filled with a most wonderful assortment of incredible bite sized fare. You really should go and experience this terrific restaurant.
