East Side Mario's - Calgary

Great atmosphere and ambiance. For a place that serves all you can eat soup salad and bread, the prices are surprisingly reasonable! Always leave full. Always a good time from the service and kitchen staff.

Now more than ever I feel like we're all looking for a good, consistent place to go eat that will make your dollar stretch the furthest while not compromising on food quality and service. This place is the place to go! It's a great Italian-American eatery with a well-rounded and thought out menu, courteous staff and a great price point as well as constant promotions that offer even better deals on their good food. Definitely a must if you're in the south!

My husband and I came for lunch one day and I ordered a dish with muscles. The waitress came out and gave us our dishes only to come out later, after we already started eating, that they accidentally prepared the wrong dish for me. The dish she gave me also had muscles so I thought it was the correct dish. It was not her fault: it was a miscommunication between kitchen staff. She said she was told that I either had to pay for the dish I was already eating (which was more $$$$) OR she would have to take my plate away (again, I WAS ALREADY EATING) and they would give me the correct dish. That is poor customer service in my opinion: they should have told me, apologized, and let me FINISH my food and given it to me for free, or at least discount the price, as it was not my mistake. I've had this happen to me before at another restaurant and the other place so graciously covered my meal. I shouldn't have to pay for a more expensive meal I didn't ask for. I felt bad for the waitress too: she was so gracious and kind, but it just made for a completely awkward situation. I told her I blame her manager and not her. I am giving it two stars because the food is decent, but needless to say, we are NEVER going back there again.

1. Came for lunch on, place has clean ,homey ambiance plus our server wa really nice and accommodating.2. The entree servings of pasta was smaller and honestly, could have been cooked a little tastier.3. Even the all you can eat soup and salad were more on the average.

We went there on Sunday night for dinner. The place was packed and since they don't take reservations we waited about 15 minutes which was not bad for a city restaurant. The service is quick and the servers look after the kids with stuff like crayons, coloring books etc. We ordered some prawns as appetizers , then a carbonara, a four meat pizza, Caesar wrap, some pasta and drinks.They make great cocktails, Sangria etc. We had an enjoyable dining experience. The food was very good, hot and tasty. We received a very reasonable bill.We will be back for sure and I would definitely recommend this east Side Mario to anyone travelling with kids or on their own
