Albergo Calalzo Bar Ristorante Pizzeria

Not appealing from outside front door, but owner is extremely helpful and friendly, rooms clean and comfortable, the pizza is great and very large, and the beer nice and cold. This has been already our stop a couple of times when we arrive by train at the beginning or end of a hiking trip in the dolomites, and it will be our base campt next time too. Only 300 mt from Calalzo train station, buses to pieve, cortina, sappada, auronzo, padola, sesto leave from the parking lot across the train station. In case you forgot something there is shopping for anything right next door: Sportler, Eurospar, Lidl. The pista ciclabile to Cortina and Dobbiaco starts from the train station, and to hike up the valley, just cross the street and follow the road thru the old Calalzo. Again: the outside and the reception, and some of the corridors don 't look too good, but the rooms and the Pizzeria are great. It looks like they did not have a chance to complete the remodel, so I am glad they chose to remodel the rooms instead of sprucing up the outside

Huge, delicious pizza for a very good price, the staff is really nice and you really feel like taken care. I do recomend it despite not so pleasent look of the building.
