Phetyai Thai - Cairns

Fantastic eating and generous portions for about $15 it cannot be beaten.

It's an absolute gem of a Thai place! I am so happy I found this one. The food was totally delicious and the portions were huge! The price is so reasonable that I daresay this is perhaps the Thai place in Australia which offers the best value for money! I have never seen another thai restaurant that offers free rice with the curry. I don't know whether it was something common in Cairns but I was very positively surprised. All other places would ask for an extra 5$ for that much rice. We ordered one curry, one stir fried fish, one fried rice, coconut rice and fried chicken wings and we paid only 57$. The fried chicken was probably the only thing we didn't like as much. Their customer care may have shown some space for improvement, as it wasn't easy to get their attention, but hey for such great food at such an amazing price, I don't mind a little lack of attention, I understand they perhaps were a little understaffed.

For 14$ the garlic pork and rice was amazing. Quick food and cheap but delicious. Reminded me of Asia. Real authentic. Pleasantly surprised. Definitely going back there.

Love, love the hearty portions. We ordered pad see ew, yum woon sen, garlic pork with rice and dry curry beef rice. Alls good except that the dry curry wasnt up my alley , it was kind bland but nth a lil chilli fish sauce can't fix! Will def be back again!
