Bidra med feedbackCasa Tomada in the centre of Cafayate is a wonderful small garden bar. You can sit outside near a small pond and enjoy some sunshine or go inside when it rains or gets cold. Snacks and drinks are great, but what all... LOVES is the buena onda. You feel like you're part of the family and you just want to stay there forever.
This is another place I checked out because my mother said that the reviews looked good. But I had my doubts. Ombu doesn't look like much (or at least the outside seats don't), but don't leave it. The music was typical of many Argentinian cafes, played with a (English-speaking) artist directly through a CD that was a little disappointing, but not too bad. But the Picadas!!! I had used to disappoint Picada-Platter, who not only skip to content but to quality, but Ombu has revived my belief in the miracle of Picada. We have a decent wine to go with him – it was a red, do I think of Bodega Nanni? but the picture was the star of the show. Absolutely fantastic!
Great place with really nice ambience, a lovely setting and a beautiful outdoor area. But from a wine bar I would expect more wines by the glass. We didn't go later, but they also offer live music starting at 10pm or so. So great place,...but not really a wine bar ;
When we arrived we were the only ones there (apparently this is a quiet winter in Cafayate this year) but it's a very romantic and comfortable spot to drink wine. It would be AMAZING in summer! Three other couples arrived over the evening, all sharing...wine and empanadas and enjoying the warm relaxed atmosphere. No gluten-free food, but that's normal for bar's/
We went for a drink and a picada as we were just staying at the hostel close to it. We were surprised that the place was empty, it must be new. The wine was great and fairly priced, the waitress was friendly and playing nice...music on her computer. I wish we had gone one more time!
