In retrospect I should have asked questions since I had never been there before. The food was good but it wasn't what I was expecting. I ordered Fried chicken. I was expecting what you would get anywhere else. I received 2 boneless chicken breasts. Idon't particularly like chicken breasts boneless or not. The pineapple and cheese casserole was very good though.

Fantastic home style meal. We had a great dinner that was affordable and fed us completely. I highly recommend this restaurant and the staff are so friendly.

Absolutely the best resurant in carter county! The food is amazing and tye staff was wonderful too. This is buffet style eating, you pick what you want and they continue to bring it out until you are full. For this reason its not the cheapest but it is wellworth it if you can even get a table. Check it out, its well worth your time and money!!

We arrived at just the right time. Live bluegrass music band! I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and pineapple cheese casserole. All was delicious and the staff were attentive. We enjoyed Shirley's very much.

Came to Watauga lake for the week. Great area and the lake was so nice. Shirley?s is a gem of a restaurant! Fresh made family style food?fast and attentive service! (Get there early though) Best Cou try Fried steak I?ve ever had and all the rest of theitems are great as well?oh yea?real Banana pudding (southerners know what I?m talking about) Shirley?s will be a regular stopfor us on future trips to the lake.
