Bidra med feedbackI hadn't been to this pub in years, but after bumping into the previous Licensee a few weeks ago, I decided to revisit. I booked a table with Carol, the friendly new Licensee, and explained that I had limited mobility and needed to sit as soon as I arrived. Carol looked out for me and made sure everything went smoothly. The menu looked professionally done, especially to me as a retired Home Economist. The Chef, who happens to be Carol's husband, came out and we had a pleasant chat about food and cooking. The special of the day was Steak with homemade sauce, mustard mash, and fresh vegetables for under £10, and it was delicious. I also ordered the Jambalaya as a takeout for the next day, which was around £9. As someone with a qualification in Cajun and Creole cooking, I must say it was the best I've had in this area, as it's hard to find all the spices I typically use (which I usually get from America). Devon, the young man behind the bar, was a pleasure to interact with. Overall, it was a great experience, especially since they didn't know me and I was dining alone. I don't know how they manage to offer such quality at such a reasonable price, but I've already made a reservation to come back.
We were staying nearby and found this pub because of the government dine in offer, the prices were very reasonable in any case. Good choice of quality food swiftly served by friendly staff
The food at this restaurant is excellent, and the customer service is top-notch. We had a lovely lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed it. My partner ordered the mixed grill, and I had the chicken jambalaya, both of which were delicious.
Friendly, efficient waiter service, good wholesome food enjoyed by all our family and relatives! Nice starters and main courses, oh, we just managed a dessert! Would benefit from some real cider perry but had a reasonable ale on : Relaxed environment with outside seating for summer!
Absolutely the best mixed grill I've ever had! I couldn't finish it all. Where else can you find black pudding and a lamb chop on a grill? You have to go try it.
