Bidra med feedbackWe were just passing through town and decided to stop at this restaurant. We ordered a ham and cheese toastie, but unfortunately they were out of ham. No big deal, we moved on to order coffee. We could already tell the coffee wouldn't be great when we saw them pull out a preheated milk jar from the fridge. The coffee was terrible, tasting like warm dishwater. Save your $7 and skip this place.
We chose a mixture of savoury pastries and my husband chose a sweet treat. All of the items we chose were really tasty and fresh. The service was excellent and the value was also really good. Highly recommend.
After reading the reviews, I was quite disappointed with this restaurant. The pastry was good, but the filling contained carrots. Everything was finely chopped into small cubes and mixed together. I couldn't taste any white pepper and it was also dry because of a lack of butter. I specifically visited Burra to buy a pasty and see the Cornish style engine houses at the open cast mine. I would rate the pasty a 3 out of 10.
In search of a quick morning snack, I stumbled upon a place with great coffee, tasty apple turnovers, and welcoming customer service. I would definitely recommend this spot if you're in the area.
What a surprise to find it open on a Sunday. Yay. Delicious pies, highly recommend the vegetable pastie and sausage rolls. Set in a gorgeous town. Well worth the stop.
