Garden Fresh Express - Burnaby

I love the curry-flavored beef and potato dish at this restaurant. It brings back memories of an old-fashioned deli in Vancouver. The portion size is generous for the price of $15 and I always find myself returning. The potatoes in the brisket are consistently hard and crispy whenever I visit, which is about once a week. The texture is much softer at the other location.

This is a newer addition to the HKG-style cafe scene in the Metrotown area. It is a chain restaurant that is beautiful and clean. The service was okay and fast, and the food was cooked to perfection. The Mini set has limited items, but their signature dishes like curry meat brisket and Hainanese chicken are highly recommended. This is a great spot for a quick bite.

I was skeptical at first because of some of the other reviews, but my friend wanted to try it. However, it completely exceeded my expectations. The food was great value and the portions were very large. I tried the black bean cow dish and was quite impressed, it was one of the best meals I've had in a while. I will definitely be returning.

The curry beef is too salty. it would taste wonderful if the chef can taste it and put less salt. the Hainan chicken was good.

I would go back, after a rough weekend, the atmosphere, the staff and of course the food really made my day and since I haven't traveled for a while.. my visit there somewhat brought me back to Hong Kong, I also thought it was a decent amount of food for the price
