The Sea Shanty Fish & Chips

My son and I decided on a take out meal of fish and chips. I'd completely forgotten about this place. We used to come here when I was much younger. Its still awesome. the fish and chips are awesome! Staff is friendly and polite. I love this place!!!

I was there Saturday night. My boyfriend had their halibut and chips and I ordered the Fisherman's platter. The portion of food was great. We arrived when they opened so it took a bit longer as they had to turn on the fryers etc. They were friendly and engaging. The fisherman's platter had halibut, fries, 3 shrimp and 3 scallops. They were delicious. I thought the shrimp and scallops were better than the halibut. For some reason I found the halibut dry. So did my boyfriend. But otherwise the taste was good.

I read good reviews for their fish and chips and we decided to give them a try for dinner last night. We both ordered the halibut and chips with a side of coleslaw and gravy and 2 cans of pop. With tip and tax the bill was over $60. The chips, gravy, and coleslaw were good. But the halibut was not the batter was tasteless and the fish was horrible. Halibut usually has a mild taste, but this was very strong and tasted off . Neither of us could finish our meals. We went straight home and were glad we had more than one bathroom when we got there. We were both sick. We were the only customers in the restaurant on a Thursday evening at 6 pm I guess there was a reason for that!

Great fish and chips, probably some of the best we have had since coming to Canada 32years ago. Thjank you for a great meal.

Probably the worst we have ever had. Thick undercooked batter tasted like raw pancake batter fries were s##t as well. Threw all in the trash. Too bad that there are less than 1 star. Total waste of money. Only ordered from there because Caz' s closed.
