Honey West Restaurant Bar - Burlington

Dined at Honey West recently and was quite disappointed. Food seemed much lower quality than previous experiences. The root vegetable pasta was exta extra el dente, so much so that everything was sticking together, very bland. Also ordered the chopped tossed wedge salad, $12.00, came out smaller than what you'd expect a side order to be. Too bad.

THEY DIDNT SEAT US they said they don’t use open table and asked us to sit at the bar. There’s no one even to contact in these situations to have this happen on valentines with my expecting fiance, is ridiculous.

The restaurant smelled bad, the booking was messed up due to some system issues apparently. When we were sat at a table adjoined with others in the middle of the room we asked to be moved and they refused even though 2/3 of the restaurant was empty. Ultimately left as it was a terrible setup for a Valentine’s dinner since they wouldn’t move us to one of the more private tables.

I am disappointed in the management of this restaurant. There were only 2 servers taking care of the floor, bar, and hostess station. Although someone called in, it was Valentine's Day and it would have been better to be overstaffed than understaffed. Even with 3 servers, it still wouldn't have been enough. This is especially important when you are trying to make a good first impression on new customers. We were fortunate to have one of the first seatings, but anyone arriving after 7pm was not so lucky. I don't need to go into details as you can probably imagine. I had to send back my beef Wellington as it was overdone, but overall the food was good. The atmosphere was pleasant with an excellent musician performing solo. I'm sure on a normal night, it's a great place. The 2 servers did the best they could under the circumstances, but it was not the Valentine's evening I had been expecting.

The lunch specials at the new restaurant are a fantastic deal at just $8. I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food at such a reasonable price. I opted for the penne dish and it was delicious. While the portions may be on the smaller side for some, they were beautifully prepared.
