Last weekend with four children for Sunday dinner. Appetizers were all half price and they held an Oktoberfest Bierstein competition....
This is the best place you can go down in Burlington for chicken wing hands! Every time I'm gone, I have great service and the most delicious wings....
The first thing I noticed when walking into the Black Bull was the smell of stale beer. It reminded me of a local bar I used to visit with eel worn carpet and rickety chairs. The only thing missing was the haze of cigarette smoke. Now in saying this, I do not mean it as a negative. I wish there were more bars like this still around where you can feel comfortable stopping in your work clothes for a cold beer on your way homeThe wings were good, not saucy like I had asked for and expected but still very good. The kids liked their burgers, the Haddock not so much. I tried a bit of the fish.. And yes I've had better. Now here's my big complaint and it's a huge pet peeve of mine. Chicken Wings are supposed to be served with dipping sauce and carrots and celery. The chicken wings here cone with neither and if you want blue cheese they ding you $1 for a tiny little plastic container of blue cheese. I realize it was a good price for the wings, but add in a few dollars for blue cheese and the value is gone. For this reason that I hate being nickel and dimed for basics that are included everywhere else I probably will not return and will not recommend this establishment to others.
CAme on a Sunday and a wonderful experience! Service was amazing and the food delicious - 1/2 priced apps too!
