Nawab Indian Restaurant

Since our usual Indian restaurant was closed, we decided to try a new one. At first, we were hesitant, but to our delight, the food was delicious. The goat curry was very tender and we especially enjoyed the Nawabi naan and the Peshwari fruit naan, which were amazing. As my wife is Indian, it was a new experience for me. The small differences in flavors and dishes are what will bring us back again.

I had the food delivered to my house and waited for 50 minutes, only to receive the smallest portion size I've ever seen. The taste was very average and it seemed like they didn't know how to make paranthas. Overall, I found the food to be below average.

My wife and I recently dined at this restaurant a few nights ago. We were the only customers there, which should have been a red flag. The restaurant is located behind a gas station, giving it a bit of a disadvantage. While the prices were low, the portion sizes were quite small. We ordered a few entrees and two curries, but unfortunately, both curries were overly salty. The server was efficient, which was a plus. However, when we received the bill, we were told it was $50 without any proof. I paid without question, but later realized that the bill should have only been $42 after checking the menu online. Overall, it was a cheap night out, but left a bad taste in my mouth in more ways than one.

Nawab is a reasonably new authentic family run Indian restaurant and take away. The food is prepared fast and full of flavour, though sometime a little too salty for my taste. The eat in ambience needs some work as the fit out is a mash...of the former Chinese with a few Indian touches. It's location behind a servo lends itself more to takeaway as it is hard to imagine a beautiful atmosphere here.
