MTK/MIDTOWN Kitchen - Buffalo

I had been dying to try MTK the atmosphere seemed cool I had a reservation with my friend for brunch this past Sunday. The menu online sounded like it was a great place to eat. The waitress came and let us know that there was only a breakfast buffet available in the back next to the dj booth for $20.17 they weren 't serving food made to order any longer on Sundays. I asked why was there a menu online still she stated they have not updated their website yet. The buffet consisted of boxes of fruity pebbles cocoa pebbles dried macaroni and cheese and I didn 't even look in the other foil tins. For such an upscale place where u have to make reservations for $20.17 I at least expected fresh made to order kind of food, not some picked over thrown together breakfast buffet that it looked like somebody 's aunt brought in in foil containers And don 't get me wrong I like buffets when there are sneeze guards and the equipment to make sure the food is handled and kept warm properly. Long story short my friend and I went to panos down the street and ate very well for 18.99

Was disappointed to discover brunch menu posted on their website, which is what I looked at to decide upon MTK, is no longer available but buffet is the only option. Buffet was good but did not think it was worth the price. Set up for buffet was not ideal there were no places to put lids other than on top of serving containers. It was good, but not what I had in mind for Sunday brunch.

We went for brunch based on the menu we had seen online. When we got there we could not order off the menu they had only a buffet we were told that they determine in the morning whether they are going to use the menu or the buffet based on the number of reservations for Sunday. The buffet was $20 a person and absolutely horrific. There were no choices what was there was burnt and cold. There were open boxes of cereal strewn about the buffet. When I complained I was told to call in the morning and see if it would be the buffet or the menu our server agree the buffet was terrible. We had to eat when we got home

The entire experience was mediocre at best. Actually, no. It was terrible. The server was withdrawn. They were out of no less than two menu items. And three types of beer. The server made no mention of specials even though the server at the next table did. The appetizer (calamari) was dry and rubbery and had hardly came with any sauce. The chicken cutlet was huge but also had a breading that flaked off and lacked flavor. Unimpressed.
