Taberna Baska - Buenos Aires

A very pleasant surprise! we ate a lunchtime, the restaurant was almost empty, but it disturbed us. we ate fish and otopus; the waiter was great; he told us we had ordered too much: he was of course wright; but. because eating was soou goouood, we have resisted heroic; By the way, the sides are big if they want to eat a delicious, don't miss it!

The dinner starts with a cold glass sherry while you see the menu. they also have an English menu on request. the supplements are very large. the waiting staff attentive and friendly. worth a visit.

This is a very authentic favorite for natives who come with their families. the large space that is scratched with large tables is very simple, rustic and dated (also worn and with colored bed linen only to really feel it)! the portions are large to share with. a large group, so they can have several courses. for a couple this means that they like a huge plate of one or two maximum objects so hopefully they like it. we ordered a seafood paella that looked more like a one-pot (always still much liquid vs the species they find in Spanish with all chewed crispy bits). the salate is good when something simple green that they dress up with oil and edgy. the waiters coughed quickly to keep the nonnas happy. So go and enjoy, but put their expectations that this is not a foodie experience!

Went for a meal last night, received a free sherry to start, nice touch. then one asked if one of the Spanish specificity was told that we couldn't have that so changed to muskeln was asked, was not told that we didn't have... that then tried to order a steak was said no. at this point. Although we had our weeping, we thought we could go somewhere else after the bill. that was a Friday night in buenos aires! a second waiter came by and said we could have steak. So we thought we'd be back on the Spanish stuff or try the muscles, but we weren't turned back on these dishes. After we finally ordered the steak, we were in this phase understandably only a bit disappointed. we could not believe that for a big restaurant (approx. 130 covers) and only 10 people in, why did they walk out of the food? the steak and the second meal of the grilled chicken arrived and both were perfectly cooked, which was a pleasant surprise. After we had so much effort to order the main course, we didn't want to try for a desert that is so finished, our wein asked about the bill. we then got another free drink from limoncello, again a nice note or so we thought! we had both a swallow of limoncello and fast the glass down draw many funny faces, as the drink did not taste like any other limoncello we had ever. in the did it tastes only of lemon balm liquid! unfortunately we had to leave the rest of the limoncello, because it was really very unpleasant, so we paid the bill left. I think maybe this was a very good restaurant once, but it seems better to have seen days!

Excellent Mediterranean cuisine in San Telmo, 50 meters from 9 de Julio Ave at a reasonable price. . Simple, absolutely not fussy, yet delicious. You probably won't find any fresher seafood in town.
