Bidra med feedbackAlways follow waiter suggestions. Rabas are great, mollejas are amazing and the ojo de bife as well as the Bife de chorizo are excellent too at prices that are difficult to find in that area. We also ask for wine and even the cheapest bottle...as an excellent malbec.
I stumbled across this unassuming place after a very long and hard day in BA. It didn’t look like much from the street but I was so tired and hungry I decided to give it a go. I’m really glad I did. Simple food done...well, good but restrained service and a pleasant half bottle of Malbec all at a bargain price.
We were first taken to Lo de Rita by a friend who lives around the corner and he described it as just a hole in the wall type restaurant. Lo de Rita is far from a whole in the wall restaurant. Rita efficiently runs an...enclosed interior kitchen and is always present with her assistants working diligently in the kitchen. After returning several times for the Chicken and Cheese Raviolis in a tomatoe cream sauce all their pasta dishes are excellent last night I ordered the Ojo de Bife with pepper sauce. This deliciously tender steak was served on a potatoe tortilla which was an unusual but wonderful accompaniment beneath the steak. The grilled salmon with a seafood sauce with shrimp also looked excellent and was enjoyed by one of our guests and the Salmon Raviolis with a Tomatoe Cream seafood sauce contained large chunks of Salmon as well as Shrimp and Squid in the sauce. The menu offers two Chivtos Uruguayan sandwiches as well as many meat and chicken from the grill. The menu is not large but more than adequate and most of the prices are well under the peso range, most average pesos or less. The wine list is basic but again very well priced. A great new find in our neighbourhood.
