The best meal in Playa. There is a line for a reason. All of the food we ordered was amazing. We had tortas with pork and tacos with chorizo and chicken fajitas, stuffed peppers and sooo many other things. The beans are the best I have ever eaten. I could eat a huge pot of them and nothing else. But all of the food is terrific, the server was wonderful, answering all questions since we only understood about half of the menu. Very efficient. We had so much food and four alcoholic drinks and the total was just over 40 USD. We had enough leftovers for a VERY full lunch the next day. If you don’t go, you are missing a truly autentico experience. This IS Mexican food at its finest. Can’t say enough good things about this place.

We went for supper Feb 22nd...our first bust definitely won’t be our last! Our server Edgar was awesome helped us make our choice with our broken Spanish and his broken English!! The food we tried was awesome!! Hubby had the sirloin steak ...very tender and cooked perfectly! I had the La Gringa so tasty with Al Pastor, pineapple, onions cheese between 2 tortillas delicious! Great atmosphere, service and food!!

On the advice of our taxi driver (when we asked where to get good food not touristy ****) we were dropped off here. The entire menu was in Spanish which presented some problems for us but the waiter spoke enough English to make recommendations. The food was the best we had in Mexico, especially the tacos al pastor! Will definitely return next time we’re in Playa

Amazing! I have been here many times over the last 10 years and it is the only restaurant that I need to go back to every time I go to Mexico. Sometimes, I make 2 stops at El Fogon, because it is beyond delicious. My husband LOVES the El pastor, pineapple and cheese tacos, and I LOVE the Arrachera Especial and Arrachera Nortena (I think that's how it's spelled. The chorizo on the Arrachera Nortena was Amazing! The chicken quesadillas are very good too (great kid food option I highly recommend this restaurant, because it is by far the best restaurant I have ever eaten at in the Yucatan Peninsula! I wish I could take this restaurant home with me.
