Cody Inn - Buckhorn

I have been dining at this restaurant for over 20 years and have always enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. I have noticed the impact the pandemic has had on the hospitality industry, but I was very disappointed to find out that they are now only offering takeout and no longer provide in-house dining. This is a far cry from the experience I was used to, but if the quality of the food is as good as it was when dining in, it may still be worth the price.

I have ordered takeout from this restaurant about 5 times and each time I have been disappointed with the lack of flavor and sauce in the dishes. For example, the black bean tofu dish had no black bean flavor at all, the home style roasted noodles were decent the first time but the second time they were covered in an orange pad Thai sauce which was inconsistent. The Singapore noodles were very dry and the chicken with mixed greens had no flavor at all, just bland with no sauce base. As someone who cooks Asian cuisine, I believe I can make much better dishes myself. The only dishes I didn't mind were the wonton soup and peach prawn dish. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this restaurant and do not recommend it to anyone looking for tasty food.

I have been a fan of this restaurant for 13 years, but due to COVID-19 they are now only offering takeout. About 3 weeks ago, my chicken balls were not fully cooked and the rice was very dry. Today, I decided to give them another try and was told my order would be ready at 5:50. I arrived at 5:50 but had to wait outside until 6:10. By the time I got my food, it was cold and not enjoyable to eat. There was no organization or communication for customers waiting outside, and the same line was used for ordering and picking up orders. Overall, very disappointing experience for loyal customers.

Order dinner for one and cantonese chow main . dinner. that was okay. but found a metal staircase in the food. to the happiness I notice something sharp in my mouth.

Hot and plenty we come to Buckhorn about three times a year and always get take out from Cody inn and picnic along the canal. Lemon chicken and spring rolls are hot and yummy. A must if you come to Buckhorn
