La Polenta - Bucaramanga

I went here with my fiancee on valentine's day (2/14/2017), and the place was breathtakingly beautiful. The food was just as spectacular! For dinner we had the salmon dinner with some shrimp on top of the salmon, coconut rice and a salad. The food was cooked perfectly and each bite just melted in my mouth. The desserts was heavenly! The waiters there were extremely polite and prompt; they were even nice enough to take photos of us at the table, and near the fireplace area. If you want to go some where romantic with great food and beautiful ambience, this is the place to go, you won't be disappointed.

I guess the word that best describes my experience at La Polenta is: Excellent! My experience, and that of my wife and her parents, was great. We went there for my wife’s birthday; we knew almost nothing about the restaurant, only that my father-in-law had gone before and he thought we would like it. He was right. The service was great; Eugenio, the maître, was excellent: he made some recommendations that are not in the menu, and we all selected those options; the descriptions he made, made us want to taste it all! The place is good; it’s an old house that was restyled, and some of the old doors are now part of the decoration in a wall. The ambience was quiet and the music perfect for a long lunch. We loved that we were never pressed to order; in fact, we ordered some drinks (in my experience, I had one of the best Gin Tonic I’ve ever tasted), and we were talking and enjoying the place for about an hour, before ordering our dishes. Eugenio had the patience and kindness of describing the options off the menu twice! We tried the seafood grill (which is served in a wooden boat, for two), and the tender loin with prawns and lulo/naranjilla sauce. Everything was delicious! That day there were going to be a fashion show or something like that in the evening, so they had to move the tables and chairs around; but they respected us and our place, until we finished. We stayed at La Polenta almost 3 hours; we never got bored and they never pushed us to order or leave the place. They were very kind, specially Eugenio. I totally recommend this place.
