Bidra med feedbackIf you are looking for a place to eat well in the centre of Brussels and where you have the opportunity to try some of the main dishes of Belgian gastronomy, then I recommend you without a doubt La Guinguette en Ville, very close to Sant Catharine Square, a very lively area of terraces and restaurants. The place is not very large, but very cozy. It is decorated as most of the classic Belgian premises. Wooden floors, small tables close to others, big old mirrors... Anyway, a lovely place where you eat very well. The letter is divided into two parts. On the one hand, it has some of the main classic dishes of Belgian gastronomy. On the other hand, something more modern dishes with some French influence. A recommendation that they made us and that I strongly recommend you after testing it is that you try the famous croquettes. They're actually crochatons for their big size. The traditional one is of small gambits, but also make other of very good cheese. Others of the typical local dishes are mussels with fries, star dish of Belgian gastronomy (they have classics, garlic sauce or sailor), asparagus, or horse meat steak, a meat very consumed in Belgium.
Beautiful restaurant with a very careful gastronomy. The letter is divided in two ways, the first one with a traditional Belgian cuisine and the second one with a more modern kitchen with different trends. We, newly arrived in Brussels, opted for the traditional and the truth is that it was exquisite. A applause for croquettes (especially shrimp and horse meat. Everything, as always, accompanied by the classic Belgian fries. :

I finally gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere with outstanding dishes. The ingredients were very fresh and the service was exceptionally kind. Thank you.
The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was excellent. The pork tenderloin was the best I have ever had.
