Louisiana Bayou Bistro - Brusly

I made a reservation for July 4th at 11:00. I arrived at 10:45 and waited until 11:00, but no one showed up to open the restaurant. If they are not planning to open on July 4th, they should either disable OpenTable reservations for that date or put up a sign outside indicating that they are closed. It would have been helpful to have their voicemail recording state their closure as well. It was frustrating to waste half an hour waiting at a restaurant that seemed to be closed.

I visited the restaurant on Valentine's Day and ordered a cup of seafood gumbo, blackened redfish with potatoes and salad. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the gumbo and salad that came with the meal. The fish seemed more baked than blackened, and my potatoes were cold. Despite the restaurant not being too crowded, I was disappointed with my experience. I may give it another chance to see if the same issues arise again. If they do, I will not return. The food tasted good, but it would have been even better if it had been served warm.

We opted for the buffet at this restaurant and were pleased with the hot and delicious food options available, including a variety of meats and seafood. The service was exceptional for our party of 20, with no long waits for drinks. Although the dessert options were limited to bread pudding and three types of cake, the bread pudding was particularly outstanding. We have dined here before and will definitely be returning. Perhaps the addition of a soft serve ice cream machine would enhance the dining experience even further.

If they weren't planning on opening for July they should have disallowed OpenTable reservations for that date put up a sign outside saying that they're closed and/or have their voicemail recording state so. We could have avoided wasting half an hour if this place had been less inept.
