Bidra med feedbackSituated opposite the DH Lawrence Birthplace Museum, we visited after seeing the museum. Named after Lawrence’s first published novel the Cafe is as much of gem as the museum. Warm, welcoming and quirky. The staff are a delight. The menu is extensive and full of good old fashioned British dishes. Excellent meals and superb prices. Has a nostalgic feel of visiting a relative who fed you up with substantial, tasty food when you were a nipper. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough!
Popped in after visiting the D H Lawrence museum. Very accommodating staff I wanted soya milk and it was not a problem. Green tea, coffees, toasted teacake and scone was consumed. Fresh and refreshing.
I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. It is located on a quiet side street near the DHLawrence heritage centre. The food is traditional, the staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I enjoyed a delicious bacon sandwich and a Mocha. I highly recommend this place.
